Objectives and solutions.
SEJEN CI provides technical support to PEPFAR’s Implementation Partners (P.M.O.) to improve the quality of collected HIV data and reduce processing and communication times at PEPFAR.
For this purpose, P.M.O. PEPFAR as well as the national partners that are the Directorate of Information and Health Information (DIIS) of the Ministry of Health of Côte d’Ivoire, the National AIDS Control Program (PNLS) and Measure Evaluation have monthly meetings of brainstorming with SEJEN CI in order to find solutions. These meetings identified priorities for improving the quality of the PEPFAR ecosystem data.
« Technical support to community PEPFAR PMOs – HAI case » is a pilot that will be rolled out to all PEPFAR PMOs involved in community data collection. This pilot will also be deployed on two control sites including one in Abidjan and the other in the interior of the country, aims at the following objectives :
- At the general level
- Understanding the Community HIV Data Ecosystem
- At the site level (NGO) of HAI
- Interconnection of sites to know :
- Link sites to HAI headquarters
- Linking each other by a local network, the relevant services within the sites (reception, enrollment, screening, consultation, laboratory, communication service for the change of behavior, service care and support)
- Evaluation of duplicates in databases
- Improve the quality of data collected and entered
- Interconnection of sites to know :
- At the headquarters of HAI
- Automate the filling of templates with data received from NGOs
- Facilitate the exploitation of files collected from NGOs:
- Facilitate the entry of “Mother Data” to the Datin application
The beneficiaries of these activities are :
- The agents who work daily on HIV data: these will see their tasks improve and be facilitated ;
- HAI’s IT Department will see its information, data collection and analysis system grow stronger ;
- HAI whose PEPFAR expected performance will be improved thanks to :
- Reducing data collection and compilation times from 3 to 6 months now, to less than a week ;
- Better quality of data analyzed and transmitted to PEPFAR ;
- PEPFAR will see the quality of these data be significantly improved.
The HAI pilot will be implemented in the coming weeks.
These technical work sessions will validate the following required activities :
- In terms of automating template filling : creating a “data processing module” ;
- Facilitating exploiting collected files: migrate data from a No SQL database
- Improved data entry in Datin : automatically restructure the rows and columns of the “main excel file” to avoid wasted time when reporting data to Datin.
